material_play - CRADLE TO CRADLE / by Annabelle Guldner

CHIP(s) BOARD, a fairly new company has come up with a way to make MDF board redundant. They developed a way to use food waste and create a building material that can be a substitute to wood. Potato peels are are the main component, together with binders derived from waste so they are biodegradable without toxins, resins or formaldehyde. This product can be used as fertilizer when it's time to be discarded. The cradle to cradle principle is at the core of their philosophy. This is definitely an exciting product and I'm looking forward to come samples to feel this material first-hand.
