will the renovating space be livable? what about pets?depends on the space! we clean up and keep the space as neat as possible. your home will become a construction space. we’ve had clients who move into their basement, live with family/friends, it depends on your resources. you will be responsible for making sure your pets are restricted from the work area. we love animals and want them to be safe!
-
will the construction be messy?it's impossible to do a renovation without dirt, but we have a lot of experience with containing the mess that comes with construction. we use visqueen walls and seal off as much of the area as possible.
-
how long will the project take?obviously, every project is unique and it is impossible to predict how long the project will last without knowing the parameters. here are a few common timelines for popular projects depending on scope (not including design phase): new home builds -- 40-52 weeks additions -- 16-24 weeks kitchens -- 12-20 weeks master bathrooms -- 8-12 weeks smaller bathrooms -- 6-8 weeks entire home renovations -- 16-24 weeks covered decks -- 6-12 weeks (our renovation projects are fully customized. they often require some level of structural modification. renovations generally require us to strip down to the studs in order to ensure longevity and quality.)
-
is there any phase of the project where the most complications are likely to occur?most problems happen in the first third of the project. when we open up a wall, we have no idea what we will find, and frankly, sometimes it's not great. we always plan for this sort of thing by factoring in the potential costs (within reason)! the majority of the time the issues are manageable!
-
do you work with subcontractors?we always work with the same team so we know that their work is up to our standards. we work exclusively with the best subs in the area!
-
what are your plans for sustainability?we love sustainable projects, but they come at a higher material price point. every renovation has an environmental impact so we try to minimize that by using quality, durable materials and creating sustainable, timeless designs.
-
what is your bottom line?our goal is to enhance your day to day experience with our new home builds, renovations, and designs. we want to take your style and preferences and translate them into beautiful spaces that add to your quality of life. we are focused on creating projects we can both be proud of. quality comes first for us.
