the previous secondary living room felt cold and heavy with marble tile and a large marble fireplace. there was also a 6" elevation change into this room.

the space houses the kitchen now.  it blends soft sage tones with rich dark-wood accents, creating a warm, elevated modern-Mediterranean feel. the concealed spice cabinets are seamlessly integrated behind the backsplash for a clean, streamlined look. a 54" combination gas and induction cooktop becomes the centerpiece, complemented by bespoke hardware and a matte-black, metal-wrapped hood that adds a striking, sculptural focal point.

the same space used to also have a small bar, everything felt dark, crammed and uninteresting.

now that the kitchen occupies this space it feels both expansive and highly functional, with an airy brightness that makes the entire space inviting from the moment you step in.  new red-oak floors run throughout, their natural tone enhanced by radiant plumbed heating that brings a subtle, comforting warmth underfoot, making the space feel as luxurious as it is practical.

looking the other way in the same old living room, the heaviness and awkwardness is evident.

the kitchen centers around a stunning 10-foot island that not only anchors the space but enhances its expansive, welcoming feel. one continuous 10' × 6' slab of quartzite crowns the entire surface. attached to one end is a floating wood counter extension that comfortably seats six, creating an ideal spot for casual meals, conversation, or entertaining. to the left, a large bar defines the transition between the kitchen and the open living area, blending copper accents with matte-black cabinetry for a rich, modern contrast. custom metal shelves, elegantly suspended from the ceiling, add both visual interest and functional display space, tying together the room’s blend of craftsmanship, warmth, and contemporary sophistication.

the former view from the secondary living room to the primary living space, separated by arches and an elevation change - dysfunctional with wasted space and lacking flow.

the island features a five-foot sink, fitted with twin faucets and a dedicated instant hot-water tap—a setup that feels both professional and indulgent. a custom pizza oven completed the space and makes it heaven for entertaining. the bar now forms a subtle boundary between the kitchen and the main living area—a division without disconnection. it frames the space, yet keeps sightlines open in both directions, allowing conversations, movement, and energy to flow naturally.

the former kitchen was dark, small and lacked any functionality or character.

what was once a cramped, outdated kitchen has been completely transformed into a generous, highly functional mudroom and laundry suite that feels both elevated and inviting. Mediterranean-inspired patterned tile brings personality and warmth to the space, its vibrant motifs setting the tone for a colorful blue palette carried throughout the cabinetry and accents. a custom dog-wash station adds convenience and charm, crafted with durable materials and thoughtful detailing that makes pet care easy. radiant, plumbed heated floors run throughout, ensuring year-round comfort while enhancing the sense of luxury in this hard-working room.

the former convoluted space was inadequate, dark, stuffy and uninspiring.

rich custom white oak cabinets pair seamlessly with the deep blue built-ins, creating a balanced blend of natural texture and bold color. the layout is intentionally spacious, offering ample storage, open drop zones, and a dedicated laundry area designed for effortless everyday use. at the heart of the new mudroom and laundry suite, a pair of custom 8-foot-tall arched glass pocket doors frame the built-in washer and dryer with stunning architectural detail. these doors glide effortlessly into the walls, revealing the full functionality of the laundry zone when needed and disappearing just as seamlessly to maintain an open, airy feel. the result is a beautifully re-imagined space—bright, organized, and full of character—perfectly tailored for modern living.

the old living room was laid out awkwardly with a marble fireplace in the corner, making furniture arrangement impossible. it was lacking comfort and warmth.

the living room has been fully re-imagined around a striking 6-foot linear fireplace set into an arched bump-out wall, creating an instant focal point. behind it, a smooth, softly clouded Venetian plaster finish adds depth and quiet elegance that shifts with the light. Custom white oak shelving units with integrated lighting flank the fireplace, turning the wall into a warm, curated display for books and art. new red oak floors and white oak ceiling beams bring cohesion, rhythm, and a touch of rustic refinement. the result is a cozy, sophisticated space with a rich, harmonious palette and a modern yet deeply comfortable feel.

the former foyer was filled with marble tile, a marble fountain, a dreary feel and atmosphere

the newly transformed foyer feels airy, bright, and immediately welcoming, offering a fresh introduction to the home’s refined character. A repurposed front door with a rich ebony finish anchors the space, while new heared hex terracotta tiles add warmth and earthy texture. The reframed staircase creates a gentler, more graceful rise, enhancing both comfort and flow. Elegant arched doorways to the master suite and powder room add softness and a touch of Mediterranean-inspired charm.

the exterior of the home has undergone a dramatic transformation, shedding its former coarse pink stucco and awkward covered front area.

now we have a sophisticated Mediterranean-inspired façade. the previously enclosed outdoor zone has been fully re-imagined and houses the plant space now, closed in with a striking 16-foot opening fitted with 10-foot-tall doors, creating a grand architectural gesture that instantly modernizes the home’s presence. a new smooth stucco finish in a warm, light tan tone wraps the exterior in a soft, sun-washed look, bringing texture and elegance while aligning the house with a timeless Mediterranean aesthetic. the entry now features a pop of vibrant blue—a welcoming, character-rich detail that contrasts beautifully with the neutral façade and adds a sense of charm and individuality.

the front covered area was always mistaken for the front door causing confusion and becoming a completely unused wasted space

the former front outdoor area is now a bright, enclosed plant and garden room finished with Mediterranean-inspired patterned tiles and heated floors. A newly framed catwalk and staircase with custom cable railing add visual interest, while an 18-foot sliding door opens the space up to the interior. the smooth stucco walls, blue-accented ceiling, and refurbished original pendant create a cohesive, character-rich atmosphere. a new opening to the foyer features a custom stained-glass window designed by the homeowners and handcrafted in Denver, completing this vibrant, nurturing space.

the master bathroom has been completely re-imagined with a fully rearranged floor plan, creating a bright, airy, and calming spa-like retreat. five-by-five Mediterranean-inspired patterned tiles set a bold yet soothing foundation, complemented by soft arches that introduce an elegant sense of flow. a custom 9-foot white oak vanity with all-drawer storage features integrated lighting both beneath the cabinet and behind the mirrors, paired with warm alabaster sconces for a serene glow. the custom tiled steam shower includes integrated lighting and a built-in bench, while tailored wall paneling with hooks adds functional beauty to this thoughtfully crafted space.

the master bath was chopped up and outdated.

the frosted-glass pocket door to the water closet allows natural light to flow even when closed, maintaining the room’s airy, serene feel.  the quartz countertops with mild and gently veining have been mitered to give the impression of 6cm thick counter. the soft cream toned porcelain tiles are heated and give the space a clean, crisp and serene feel.

the bar used to be crammed and without any appeal.

the renovated basement bar now feels like a vibrant, playful secondary kitchen, grounded by 2" round floor tiles that add texture and movement. a colorful orange Smeg fridge becomes the focal point, echoed by the Grohe faucet’s subtle orange accents, while a vintage light brought from London casts striking shadows across the glossy grey cabinets and quartz countertops. the space blends old and new effortlessly, especially where the adjacent staircase features a custom handrail topped with a refurbished bronze rail salvaged from the original home. the result is a lively yet refined bar that’s equal parts fun, functional, and deeply personal.

the basement library used to be uninspiring, samey and outdated.

the renovated basement library embraces a richly moody atmosphere, defined by matte black custom metal panels that frame the fireplace pedestal, wood storage, and the hearth-like flooring in front of the wood-burning stove. warmth and practicality come through in the custom walnut drawers tucked beneath the metal panels, paired with dark-teal accented shelving that adds just a hint of playful color. dark grey walls and ceiling create an intimate backdrop, complemented by custom folding doors that allow the room to be fully closed off. soft contemporary art lighting completes the space, making it feel both cozy and dramatically refined.
